The Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Norway, Her Excellency Ingrid Mollestad, paid a first call on the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms Rhoda Jackson, at the Headquarters of the Ministry on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, to present her Copies d’Usage. The two dignitaries discussed the important and welcomed aspects of the relations between Norway and The Bahamas, at the bilateral, regional and international levels, including with respect to the impact of climate change and natural disasters, the safeguarding of the world’s oceans and seas, the importance of committed official development assistance to global relief and collaboration, and mutual support for international candidacies. Also present at the call were the Honorary Consul of Norway, Mr R. Craig Symonette, and Mr Eugene Torchon-Newry, Acting Director-General, and Ms Shagerra Edgecombe, Foreign Service Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador-designate Mollestad is scheduled to call on Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor-General of The Bahamas, on Wednesday, 18 April, 2018, to present her Letters of Credence, accrediting her officially as Ambassador of Norway to The Bahamas.
