Judge Burton Hall Re-appointed to UN Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration is pleased to advise that Judge Burton Hall, a distinguished Bahamian jurist, has been re-appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban ki-Moon, to serve on the United Nations Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT).
The MICT was established by the United Nations Security Council 22 December 2010 to carry out a number of essential functions of the former International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), on which Judge Hall has served since August of 2009. Judge Hall’s new, two year term began on 1 July 2016 (delete) until 30 June 2018.
