Message from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas on Jamaica Independence, 6 August 2016

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, on behalf of the Government and People of The Bahamas is pleased to extend our congratulations as the Government and People of Jamaica as they celebrate the country’s 54^th Anniversary of Independence.

The Bahamas and Jamaica’s strong diplomatic relations continue to deepen as the similarities between our cultural and colonial history foster our shared vision for a unified and prosperous Caribbean Region.

Therefore, on this occasion, we are honored to celebrate Independence Day with the friendly nation of Jamaica, one of the family members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
