Message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the National Day of the Dominican Republic

On the occasion of the 174th Anniversary of the Dominican Republic, 27th February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, conveys congratulations and best wishes to the government and people of the Dominican Republic on behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

The National Day of the Dominican Republic commemorates its Independence re-declared from Haiti in 1844, after a 22-year occupation. Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1991 our countries continue to enjoy friendly and cooperative relations. We are confident that these relations will be further strengthened and enhanced in years to come.

The Bahamas’ extends best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Government and people of the Dominican Republic.
