Ministry of Foreign Affairs (VISAS) Regulations, 2015

Nassau, The Bahamas, 30 January, 2015 – Pursuant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Act, 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas is responsible for the coordination, regulation and implementation of visa regulations for The Bahamas. As such, all policies, and the establishment of criteria and negotiations for the abolition of visas fall within the ambit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are subject to periodic review and amendments.

In keeping with this mandate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Visas) Regulations, 2015 which was passed in Parliament in late 2014 will serve the purpose of establishing, codifying and regulating the issuance and terms of conditions of visas for the entry of persons who are not citizens or permanent residents of The Bahamas, as well as impose new fees to be charged for services rendered by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Visas) Regulations, 2015 which will provide for new visa fees was gazetted as S. I. #5 of 2015 in the Extraordinary Gazette of 28 January, 2015 and will enter into force on 1 February, 2015
