On the occasion of the 118th Anniversary of the Philippines’ National Day, 12 June 2016, the Honourable Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas, conveyed congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency Jose Rene D. Almendras, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines on behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The National Day of the Philippines commemorates the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on 12 June, 1898.

The Minister referred to the cordial and friendly diplomatic relations between the Philippines and The Bahamas for the past 40 years and conveyed to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines, The Bahamas’ wish for their continued progress and prosperity.
