ONLINE COURSE OFFERINGS FROM THE OAS

Please note the listing of Online Course offerings from the Organization of American States, (OAS), all of which will be conducted in English.

The OAS will be offering a 50% partial scholarship for these courses and the recipient will be responsible for the additional 50% payment which is equivalent to $500.00.

Interested persons should complete the applications online in the first instance at http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/professionaldev.asp and a hardcopy should then be printed out and dropped off at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the attention of the Economic Affairs and Technical Assistance Division. Please note the deadlines for the receipt of applications at the Ministry are listed below as the deadlines vary.

The Courses and deadlines are as follows:-

  • Grant Writing- How to write proposals for Fund Search – It is expected that participants will become familiar with the technical language used in the field of “Grants Writing” at the end of the program and will have strengthened their capacity to write a proposal. Deadline for applications/nominations is 28th November, 2016.
  • Knowledge Management for Social Projects – This course tries to create a space for experimentation and acquisition of methodological tools to systematize project experiences, from a participatory approach, in order to analyze the practice, learn from it and generate knowledge and improvement in daily activities. The goal at the end of this program is to understand and comprehend each part systematization of development experience. Deadline for applications/ nominations is 17th October, 2016.
  • Fundraising – Financing Techniques for Social Projects – the aim of this course is to allow participants to become familiar with the key terms related to fundraising; to provide the necessary tools to develop a strategic fundraising plan for organizations and to create opportunities to exchange support and information about projects for social wellbeing through the formation of multi-sector cooperation networks. Deadline for applications/nominations is 31st October, 2016.
  • Management for Development Results – the aim is to understand and criticize the concepts of development; understand the meaning of development effectiveness; sustain a definition of MDR and compare conventional management of your organization (or program, sector, government, etc) with management described in this definition; linking the concepts of public value, strategy and strategic management with MDR. Deadline for applications/nominations is 17th October, 2016.
