Public Message of Condolence to the Republic of Cuba

 The Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas was saddened to learn of the recent tornado in the Republic of Cuba that occurred late Sunday, 27 January, 2019 and which affected low-lying municipalities in the capital city of Havana. We regret the loss of life, injuries and widespread structural damage that resulted from this natural disaster.

The Bahamas Embassy in Havana, Cuba has reported that Embassy Staff and members of the Bahamian Diaspora have been contacted and all are well. The Embassy will continue to monitor and provide updates, if necessary, on this disaster as information is received. The Embassy is open and operating with normal hours.

The Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas offer sincere condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba and all those affected by this natural disaster, with the hope for a return to normalcy at the earliest.
