Reports of evacuations at schools in Prince Edward Island in Canada

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration has noted the reports of evacuations at schools in Prince Edward Island in Canada. This includes Holland College and the University of Prince Edward Island. Based on news reports it would appear that the threat which prompted the evacuations was a hoax.
The Ministry and The Bahamas High Commission in Ottawa are actively monitoring this situation and we will issue a statement once detailed information is available. In the interim, the Ministry would urge all Bahamian students at the affected schools to remain calm and follow the directives from the authorities.
