Message from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas on Singapore’s Independence Day, 9 August 2016
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, on behalf of the Government and People of The Bahamas is pleased to extend congratulations to the Government and People of Singapore as they celebrate their 51st Anniversary of Independence.
The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Republic of Singapore has enjoyed more than a decade (12 years) of friendly diplomatic relations, based on mutual respect for peace, democracy, human rights and sustainable development. Our collaboration on areas of shared concern in the international arena, in particular at the United Nations and the Commonwealth, is especially appreciated.
The Republic of Singapore is to be commended for its achievements in economic development and for fostering South South Cooperation.
On this special day, we hope that the Government and People of Singapore enjoy their celebrations and continue to strive for the best. We wish them a Happy Independence Day.
