BAHAMAS CHRISTIAN COUNCIL GROUP ON THREE-DAY VISIT TO WASHINGTON

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A group of religious leaders from the Bahamas Christian Council (BCC), led by BCC President Rev. Dr. Ranford Patterson, are currently on a three-day visit to Washington, D.C.

Also included in the group, which arrived in D.C. on Tuesday, May 17, and is scheduled to leave on Friday, are Pastor Dale Moss of Life Transformational Center; Bishop Perry Newton, Word of Truth; Bishop Leroy Emmanuel, Good Samaritan Kingdom Ministry; Bishop Gregory K. Minnis, New Jerusalem Church; Rev. Roslyn Astwood, St. Stephen’s Baptist Church; Bishop Albert Hepburn, United Christian; Rev. Dr. Beverley Strachan, Assemblies of God; Pastor Sharon Williamson, Trinity Global Cathedral; Bishop Trevor Williamson, Trinity Global Cathedral; and Rev. Dr. Deanza Cunningham, Christ Community.

The visiting religious leaders paid a courtesy call Wednesday morning on the Rev. Donald Isaac, Director of Religious Affairs in the Executive Office of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

They were accompanied to that meeting by Mrs. Paulette Zonicle, Bahamas Consul General to Washington, D.C., who helped to arrange the visit to D.C. along with Mr. Chris Gardiner, a Bahamian native who is President of Gardiner, Kamya & Associates, PC, a Washington, D.C.-based chartered accounting firm.

Mr. Gardiner hosted a luncheon for the group at the Lauriol Plaza Restaurant in downtown Washington, prior to them paying a courtesy call Wednesday afternoon on His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, at the Bahamas Embassy, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.

On Thursday morning, the group officially paid a courtesy call on Consul General Zonicle at the Bahamas Embassy Consular Annex, 1025 Vermont Avenue, N.W.

Thursday afternoon they paid a courtesy call on Rev. William Lamar IV of Metropolitan AME Church, 1518 M Street, N.W., and Thursday night they were scheduled to attend a dinner hosted in their honour by Consul General Zonicle at her home in Fort Washington, Maryland.
