On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government and the people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, congratulates the Commonwealth of Australia on the occasion of its National Holiday.

The Bahamas celebrates with Australia as it marks the 231st anniversary of “Australia Day”. On this special day for the nation and people, as they commemorate the past, celebrate the present and anticipate the future, The Bahamas offers best wishes for the continued success, health and security of Australia, and for the happiness, unity and prosperity of its citizens.

The Bahamas sees Australia as an important partner, with whom it shares an historic supportive relationship and democratic values. Indeed, Australia was among the first countries with which The Bahamas established diplomatic relations after Independence in 1973, having done so 7th January, 1974. The Bahamas is confident that the continued strengthening of relations with Australia will remain mutually beneficial and result in ever closer political, economic and cultural cooperation.

Again, congratulations to the people of Australia on their national holiday.
