No Change to Fish and Seafood Imports into Florida

The Ministry has been made aware of reports circulating via social media regarding a warning that the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) imposed a new regulation banning all imports of seafood into Florida.  The Ministry has contacted the US Embassy, and it has been verified that there are no changes to the existing rules.  The FWC works with the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, an agency of the U.S. federal government, on seafood import rules.  Properly licensed/permitted individuals traveling back from The Bahamas with their own catch may possess up to the daily bag limit that applies in U.S. federal waters off Florida.
