On behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, I express condolences to the Government and people of the United Kingdom and to the family and loved ones of UK Parliamentarian Ms Helen Joanne ‘Jo’ Cox, who tragically lost her life in a violent attack on 16 June while doing her public duty.
This senseless act of violence that has resulted in the loss of life of a young and vibrant political rising star, has deeply saddened not only the citizens of the UK and those in Ms Cox’s constituency of Batley and Spen but it has shocked the entire world. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms Cox’s family and the citizens of the United Kingdom as we all mourn her loss.

May she rest in peace.
