Presentation of Credentials of Ambassador Stan Smith to the United Nations Secretary-General

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to extend its congratulations to our newly appointed Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations in New York, His Excellency Stan Smith, upon the presentation of his credentials to the UN Secretary-General, His Excellency Antonio Guterres.

The presentation took place yesterday, 10 March 2022, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Ambassador Smith noted earlier that his appointment was primarily to support the Government’s work in multilateral and bilateral agendas in New York. These included the rights and empowerment of women and girls and the supporting of efforts in the prevention of the negative implications of climate change on Small Island Developing States like The Bahamas.
