1 Pursuant to Resolution 1823 (2008) the Rwanda Sanctions Order was Revoked via International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures)(Rwanda) Order, 2008. 2 Typically, country sanctions are implemented via the ‘International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act of 1993. In the case of Iraq and Kuwait, this was not done. OAG had to be consulted, therefore, to determine whether The Bahamas’ use of the Custom Management Act and Exchange Control Regulations Act sufficiently satisfies the UN’s requirements. 3 The original Order of 2005 was amended because it did not include: prohibition of the importation of rough diamonds (Resolutions 1643, 1727, and 1782). Also, the amended resolution empowers financial institutions designated by the Committee established pursuant to Resolution 1572. 4 Revocation of 2004 Order
