Longtime Employee Coralyn Johnson-Cleare Passes Away
The Permanent Mission of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas wishes to inform the Ministry of the untimely passing of Mrs. Coralyn Johnson Cleare. Mrs. Johnson-Cleare died in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, 24th September 2022 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Johnson Cleare was a 34-year employee of the Permanent Mission having started as a Summer Intern. on 6th May 1988 at the post of Administrative Assistant in the Accounts Division. She was promoted to the post of Accountant, effective 1st July 2020.
She was well-loved and enjoyed her work, especially assisting Foreign Service Officers who were new and settling into their residences and their work in the Mission. Mrs. Johnson-Cleare was always willing to lend assistance whenever the need arose no matter what it took. Never one day had she ever complained of any ailments, aches, or pain. It was always business as usual. A rather pleasant individual, with an infectious smile, her untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of many who were looking forward to her return to the workplace. Surely, she will be missed. Mrs. Johnson Cleare is survived by her husband, Mr. Horace Cleare, one son, Chryston, and other relatives.
