Advisory for Bahamian Citizens Affected by the Southern California Fires

8th January, 2024

The fires in Southern California are spreading rapidly. Extreme fire behaviour, including short and long-range spotting, continues to challenge firefighting efforts for the Palisades Fire. Winds gusts up to 60 MPH are expected to continue through Thursday, potentially aiding in further fire activity and suppression efforts.

The Bahamas Consulate General Los Angeles encourages Bahamian nationals in the area to listen and follow the instructions and mandate of the local authorities as given. Nationals should follow the links below and adhere to any potential evacuation requests/demands.

You are encouraged to sign up with the Consulate General to receive updated alerts and instructed to adhere to all evacuation and standby orders issued by local authorities.
