The Bahamas Welcomes Côte d’Ivoire’s Incoming Ambassador

Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Director-General Jerusa Ali and Deputy Director-General Keva Bain, welcomed Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador-designate, Mr. Ibrahima Touré, and his delegation during his visit to The Bahamas to present his copies d’usage. Among the topics discussed was the need for deeper Pan-African bonds between CARICOM and African Union nations.

Both delegations explored opportunities for exchange of expertise, spotlighting The Bahamas’ tourist sector—hosting 11 million visitors last year—as a model for Côte d’Ivoire’s fast-growing services industry. Ambassador Touré emphasized enhancing air and maritime links, noting Abidjan’s port as a vital African hub ripe for stronger ties with The Bahamas. The Bahamas also extended an invitation to Côte d’Ivoire for the upcoming African Heritage Market, a celebration of African and Afro-descendant culture.
