STATEMENT BY THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTERON PRESS INQUIRIES ON THE LINE OF SUCCESSION TO THE THRONE

There are a number of queries to our office about the British government’s consideration of possible legislation to change the line of succession to the crown.

The British king is also king of The Bahamas and we are advised that this may require consultation with our government.

Until such a matter is actually before us, it would not be appropriate for the government to speculate or to comment.

Rest assured the Prime Minister will keep the country informed of any possible developments.
