High Commissioner Gomez and Honorary Consul Cecchi Hold Strategic Talks in Florence

The Hon. Andrea Cecchi, Honorary Consul of The Bahamas in Florence, Italy, and H.E. Paul Andy Gomez, High Commissioner of The Bahamas to the Court of St. James’s and Northern Ireland, stroll the streets of Florence on the 5th of June 2025 after a fruitful meeting with senior city executives at the Palazzo Vecchio.

The meeting was arranged by HC Cecchi to discuss matters of mutual interest to The Bahamas, Florence, and to Italy, generally.

Deputy High Commissioner Antonio Butler was also in attendance.

HC Gomez was quite impressed with the vibrancy of Florence, and noted, at a glance, that a scaled-down version of the City’s airport design could be quite suitable in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
