Statement on the Situation in the Middle East
FOR IMMIDIATE RELEASE – 6 March 2026 – The Commonwealth of The Bahamas views with the gravest concern the acts of aggression perpetrated against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and other neighbouring states. These are sovereign nations whose peoples have endured the sustained threat of Iranian missile and drone strikes. No legitimate grievance, however characterised, can justify the deliberate targeting of civilians and sovereign territory.
The Bahamas extends its unwavering solidarity to these nations who have stood at the forefront of efforts to preserve regional order in these difficult times. The Bahamas calls upon the international community to stand unequivocally against such conduct, bearing in mind that a rules-based international order is only as durable as the collective will to defend it.
The Government of The Bahamas acknowledges, with sincere gratitude, the sustained efforts of its Gulf partners to safeguard Bahamian and Caribbean nationals residing in the region, and affirms its readiness to support, through appropriate multilateral channels, all efforts toward accountability, de-escalation, and durable regional stability.
