Consistent with his Sundays at home in Nassau and when possible, during his travel abroad, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs with the additional responsibility for Immigration, Honourable Frederick Mitchell, MP, attended the evensong service at the Pro-Cathedral of Christ The King in Freeport, Grand Bahama on Sunday, 24th May 2026.

Father Kirkland H. Russell, Jr., Rector of the Pro-Cathedral of Christ The King, in welcoming Minister Mitchell to the service, noted that Minister Mitchell was no stranger to the city of Freeport and the wider Grand Bahama and has made his presence felt for many years.

Father Russell offered prayers and blessings for Minister Mitchell and team members from the Passport Office and the Immigration Department, Grand Bahama, who attended the service. This marks the fourth nonconsecutive term as the Bahamas Foreign Affairs Minister and second with responsibility for Immigration.

Minister Mitchell meets with 6 year old Louren Alleyne, a student of Bishop Michael Eldon Primary School, Freeport, after the evensong service at the Pro-Cathedral of Christ The King, Freeport, on Sunday, 24th May 2026.
Louren, an altar server at Christ The King, noted that she was excited about meeting Minister Mitchell in person. Minister Mitchell commended her for her commitment to the church at an early age and encouraged her to do well in her studies at school.
