Press Statement from the Department of Immigration on Insurance Coverage Issue

The Department of Immigration wishes to advise that we took note of a statement issued on 24th August 2026 by the union which represents Immigration and Customs officers related to unresolved concerns with the government’s insurance coverage.

Unaware of any issues with insurance coverage for officers, we subsequently contacted the union’s leadership to determine precisely what the concerns were and followed up.

We regret the inconvenience caused by our findings and have now been advised that the issue is resolved. We undertake to follow up if there continues to be specific issues.

The Department of Immigration remains committed to the wellbeing of our dedicated officers and entire team.
