Press Statement From The Ministry of Foreign Affairs On Fake News Related to the Freeport Passport Office

For Immediate Release
20th October 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of a FAKE public notice making the rounds on social media related to the mandatory requirement for persons to wear a mask in order to enter the Freeport Passport Office.

While the recent Grand Bahama Covid-19 reports are concerning and being monitored, no such protective measures are required at this time by the Passport Office.

We urge those circulating the FAKE public notice to stop.
