DIPLOMATIC WEEK 2026 Chairman Griffin – New Frontiers for Trade
“For generations, the world has known The Bahamas as a place to arrive. Now, we must write an equally compelling story about what goes out from our shores: our products, our services, our creativity, our expertise, and our enterprise.”
As we convene for Day 4 of Diplomatic Week 2026 on 21st October, under the theme “Orange, Blue, and Green Economies: New Frontiers for Trade & Economic Development,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is placing economic diplomacy at the centre of our international engagement. In a compelling address, Chairman @Barry N. Griffin set out a clear and bold vision for our foreign missions: to transform diplomatic reach into commercial reach for Bahamians.
Today’s programme reflects this strategic priority, bringing together Bahamian entrepreneurs and experts from across shipping, logistics, exports and other sectors to share their experiences and the challenges they face.
To turn this vision into action across our overseas missions, the Ministry is developing a comprehensive Commercial Guide for Foreign Missions, giving diplomats and commercial attachés practical tools to connect Bahamian businesses and expertise with opportunities around the world.
The ocean has always connected our islands to the world. Through coordinated economic diplomacy, we are building on those connections to take Bahamian ambition, enterprise and expertise even further.
