Allyson Maynard-Gibson Speaks at Women In Leadership Seminiar
5th May, 2025, Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahamas Alrae Ramsey School of Foreign Affairs (BARIFA) hosted a Women’s Empowerment Seminar on Friday, 2nd May.

The event, designed to cultivate leadership and camaraderie among the women in the Foreign Service, featured a talk from the Hon. Allyson Maynard-Gibson, KC. A prominent attorney who served as the First Minister of Financial Services in Bahamian history and the first woman King’s Counsel and as Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs during her pioneering career in the legal field and the public service, was the Key Note Speaker
During her address, Mrs Maynard-Gibson spoke about Women in Diplomacy, drawing on her life experiences and reflecting on memories of her father Sir Clement Maynard, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1985-1987 and 1990-1992. Minister the Hon. Frederick A. Mitchell and Director General HE Jerusa Ali also participated in the dialogue.
The seminar was the latest in a series of events held by the ministry seeking to empower employees and provide them access to accomplished mentors with decades of service to The Bahamas.
