Ambassador HE Taran S. Mackey Presents Letters of Credence to the Kingdom of Bahrain

His Excellency Taran Spencer Mackey, The Commonwealth of The Bahamas Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain (Bahrain), with residence in Nassau, formally presented his letters of credence to His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain by a virtual ceremony.  Ambassador Mackey and Minister Al-Zayani engaged in cordial dialogue and warm greetings.  Minister Al-Zayani congratulated Ambassador Mackey on his appointment and expressed eagerness to meet in person; Ambassador Mackey expressed his sincere gratitude to the Minister and the Government of Bahrain while affirming his desire to meet Minister Al-Zayani and engage in dialogue of mutual benefits for both their countries.  The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Mackey and Minister Al-Zayani agreeing to meet in person at the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly scheduled for later this month in New York City.

The Bahamas and Bahrain sit side-by-side in the United Nations and have enjoyed friendly relations for many years.  With diplomatic ties formally established between them on 25th September 2010, the two nations have successfully worked together bilaterally on various UN candidatures.  Today’s ceremony reflects The Bahamas Government’s commitment to establishing and strengthening relations with Member States of the Gulf Cooperation Council.  In that connection, Ambassador Mackey now formally serves as The Bahamas’ Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait; the Foreign Ministry welcomes Ambassador Mackey as his appointments strengthen The Bahamas’ global relations and influence.
