Bahamas Beach Soccer team beats Team USA in Spiez, Switzerland

Team Bahamas beat Team USA in the closing game of the summer training programme held on Saturday 20 August, 2016 in Spiez, Switzerland. The team, who has been training in Basel, Switzerland for the past 5 weeks competed with teams from around the world including Estonia, Italy, France, Tahiti and The United States. The team, in an effort to hone their skills in preparation for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be held in The Bahamas next April, won the nail-biting game by a score of 5 to 4.

Ambassador Rhoda M. Jackson who was on hand to greet the team and encourage them prior to their match, was presented with a team jersey by team captain, Gavin Christie. The Ambassador told the young men to be RIPE for whatever they want to do in life by respecting themselves and others, being informed, being professional and being educated. She added that discipline, hard work and respect were noteworthy traits to embrace.
