Bahamas Extends Prayers and Support for Guyana

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas extends its prayers and well wishes to the Government and people of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana following the capsizing of the MV Barima ferry off the coast of Guyana on 18th July 2026, and stands in solidarity with the families of those affected as search and rescue efforts continue. The Bahamian people share in the grief of the Guyanese nation at this difficult time and offer their heartfelt prayers for the swift and safe recovery of all those still unaccounted for. The Ministry wishes a full and speedy recovery to the injured, and reaffirms the enduring bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite the peoples of The Bahamas and Guyana as fellow members of the Caribbean Community.
