Captain Samuel Evans of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force

IMG_20160628_113010Captain Samuel Evans of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force participated in the 9th Seminar of Senior Defence Officials from the Caribbean and South Pacific in the People’s Republic of China from 12 to 28 June 2016.

Captain Evans from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force was nominated to represent The Bahamas at the two-week long Seminar, alongside representatives from ten Caribbean and South Pacific countries; Antigua and Barbuda; The Bahamas; Barbados; Fiji; Grenada; Guyana; Jamaica; Papua New Guinea; Suriname; and Trinidad and Tobago. The Seminar saw Defense Officials participate in a number of exercises and workshops and included visits to Xian, Nanjing and Shanghai to learn more about defense cooperation projects in those cities.

In addressing Officials at the Closing Ceremony, Captain Evens thanked the organizers for hosting this important Seminar, mainly the College of Defense Studies; the National Defense University; and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and hoped that further defense cooperation would continue between The Bahamas, and China, and the other countries represented. Ambassador Gomez represented The Bahamas at the Closing Ceremony on Wednesday 28 June at the College of Defense Studies in Beijing and congratulated Captain Evans on his successful completion of the Seminar and for representing The Bahamas and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in a professional manner.
