CIVIL SOCIETY WORKSHOP: ENHANCING CIVIL SOCIETY LEADERSHIP & THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN COUNTER-TERRORISM, 9 MAY 2022
On 9 May 2022, the Kingdom of Spain and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism, will co-host the Civil Society workshop, ‘Enhancing Civil Society Leadership & the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Counter-Terrorism’. The meeting will run from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (Time zone: Madrid, Spain).
The purpose of the Civil Society Workshop is to articulate joint findings and recommendations regarding the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, particularly on the meaningful participation of civil society and the promotion and protection of human rights.
It is a side event that will be held in advance of the ‘United Nations High-Level International Conference on Human Rights, Civil Society and Counter-Terrorism’ scheduled to convene 10 to 11 May, 2022 in Spain.
