Diplomatic Week Day 3 Recap: Honorary Consul Breakfast, Panel Discussions and Fact-Finding Tours

Diplomatic Week Day 3 started bright and early with a breakfast hosted by Director General HE Jerusa Ali and Permanent Secretary Mr. Melvin Seymour for Bahamas Honorary Consuls abroad and the Foreign Honorary Consular corps in The Bahamas.
At the breakfast’s conclusion, panel discussions were held.
The first was entitled The African Diaspora: Identity and Culture. Moderated by Ambassador for Museology, History and Culture HE Dr Michael Pateman, the panel included The Hon. Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth Sports and Culture; Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Jamahl Strachan, Dr. Niambi Hall-Campbell -Dean Ambassador for Chairman of the Bahamas Reparations Commission
The title of the second panel was “Cultural Diplomacy: Partnerships in Education, Science & Technology”. Hosted by Bahamas Ambassador to China, HE Dr. Paulette Bethell, speakers included Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Jamahl Strachan, OAS Country Representative Ms. Phyllis Baron, Deputy UK High Commissioner to The Bahamas Ms. Katie Schwarz and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mrs. Lorraine Symonnette- Armbrister.
After a quick lunch break, delegates took tours to Coral Vita, an oceanic conservation farm and to The Bahamas Maritime Museum.
