Director General, Ambassador Jerusa Ali holds bilateral meetings with the Director for Central America and the Caribbean, Imanol Belausteguigoitia

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General, Ambassador Jerusa Ali recently convened two bilateral meetings with Director for Central America and the Caribbean, Imanol Belausteguigoitia, within the margins of the 50th Meeting of the National Coordinators of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Mexico.

The meetings served as a platform to reinforce the longstanding diplomatic ties between The Bahamas and Mexico, as both nations celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations. Discussions during the meetings focused on the potential for collaboration between diplomatic academies, fostering partnerships in sports and public diplomacy initiatives, exploring opportunities in space cooperation, and their joint efforts to stem the illicit flow of arms. Both parties acknowledged the importance of fostering people-to-people connections and cultural exchanges to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between The Bahamas and Mexico.
