The French Republic celebrates the 229th Bastille Day

“The Government of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas extends its congratulations to The Government and People of The French Republic as they celebrate 229^th Bastille Day.

The French Republic has a rich history dating back to the 17^th and 18^th century producing some of the world’s most influential writers and thinkers to date.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in August, 1974. The Bahamas and France are both deeply committed to the ideals of freedom, sovereign equality of states and fraternity among people.

May the French Republic continue to enjoy peace, prosperity and progress as a sovereign nation.
