The Bahamas Thanks Oman For Assistance on Galaxy Leader Release
The Commonwealth of The Bahamas expresses sincere thanks to the Sultanate of Oman for its successful mediation efforts leading to the release of the Bahamian-flagged vessel, “Galaxy Leader”, and its crew comprising persons from Bulgaria, Mexico, Philippines, Romania, and Ukraine respectively. In this regard, The Bahamas expresses relief that the 25 crew members have finally been released and can now reunite with their families

Mansoor Bin Khalfan Bin Hudib Al Wahibi on Monday 27th January 2025 at the IMO after the release of The Bahamas flagged Galaxy Leader and crew of 25, which were held captive since November 2023.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas affirms its belief that navigational rights and freedoms must be respected and issues a clarion call for the pursuit of diplomatic efforts to promote peaceful resolution in regions facing violent conflict and experiencing illegal acts that disrupt international trade. To this end, The Bahamas highly appreciates the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and all other states involved in attaining the release of the Galaxy Leader and its crew.
