The Bahamas Welcomes new Greek Ambassador

5th March, 2025, Nassau, The Bahamas. Her Excellency Ekaterini Nassika, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic of Greece to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas presented her credentials today at Government House and had productive discussions in bilateral meetings held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister.
Ambassador Nassika, who currently serves as the Ambassador of Greece to the United States of America, highlighted the many shared values between The Bahamas and Greece. She noted the two nations’ shared commitment to maritime excellence, security, and sustainability, and that tourism is the cornerstone of our respective economies.
The Ambassador also reaffirmed Greece’s support for The Bahamas’ candidacy in its bid to serve as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2032-2033 term, both countries recognizing the importance of a more inclusive and representative Security Council.
With a distinguished career that includes her tenure as Greece’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and also as Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Ambassador Nassika has a wealth of experience and stands as a leading example of a woman in diplomacy, especially as the commemoration of International Women’s Day approaches on 8th March.
Ambassador Nassika also acknowledged the vibrant Greek diaspora in The Bahamas, and reiterated Greece’s commitment to further nurturing an already strong partnership.
