Henfield Assumes Office of Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Honourable Darren A. Henfield MP Tuesday 16th May, 2017 began as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Minister Henfield was sworn in as Minister during a ceremony at Government House on Monday 15th May, 2017.
Minister Henfield arrived at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Goodman’s Bay Corporate Centre bright and early at 7.30 a.m. to meet staff before heading to Cabinet for its first meeting at 10.00 a.m. In informally meeting the staff, Minister Henfield started the process of getting to know the Public Servants and the Foreign Service Officers who will assist in realising the new Government’s vision for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In due course, Minister Henfield is expected to liaise with staff at the various Ministry offices.
Minister Darren Henfield is the Member of Parliament for North Abaco. He is an attorney and former Acting Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and brings with him a wealth of experience relating to strategic matters, including maritime boundary delimitation and matters of priority for The Bahamas. He is also the former Senior Associate Pastor of Calvary Deliverance Church.
