Scholarships Highlighted in Indonesia Ambassador’s Lecture
Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including new foreign service officers from its Bahamas Alrae Ramsay Institute for Foreign Affairs, attended a lecture hosted by the University of The Bahamas on Wednesday, 4 December 2024.
The Ambassador of Indonesia accredited to The Bahamas, Her Excellency Nana Yuliana, (pictured center), who hosted this lecture on behalf of her Government, elaborated on the Government of Indonesia’s core priorities, its current foreign policy, and areas of cooperation with The Bahamas, The lecture highlighted The Bahamas bilateral relations with her home country and anticipated 2025 scholarship opportunities for Bahamian students and diplomats.
The Bahamas and Indonesia, both archipelagic nations, share similar interests and concerns regarding food security, energy security, and climate change. These provide a solid basis for bilateral cooperation.
This lecture is considered a signal of the Government of Indonesia’s growing interest in expanding and strengthening its relations not only with The Bahamas but also with the Caribbean region at large.
