JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MEXT) SCHOLARSHIP Programme 2022

The Government of Japan, through the Embassy of Japan in Jamaica, is currently
inviting applications from persons who wish to study at universities in Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programe 2022. This programme is open to Research Students only.

 

Attributes of Applicants

The scholarship covers a one year and half – two year period of graduate research at Japanese universities. The study area must be in the same field as the applicant studied or is now studying, or a related field. Recipients may enter Master’s or Ph.D. program after passing the entrance examination given by the university concerned. The scholarship includes a half-year of Japanese language training for those who need Japanese language training. Applicants must be less than 35 years of age (born on or after April 2, 1987)

 

Period of Scholarship
April Term: April 2022 to March 2024
October Term: September/October 2022 to March 2024
(incl. six months of Japanese language training)
Benefits include a monthly stipend, paid tuition and one return ticket

Due to the restrictions caused by the novel corona virus, for the Bahamas, writing exams will not be conducted. Please submit at the time of application A OR display during the interview B (if successfully invited) :
A. Proof of your language skills such as results of language exams and certification of graduation at time of application.
OR
B. Adequate display of English/Japanese language skills (at level deemed appropriate for studying in chosen field in Japan) during the interview.
