The Government of The Bahamas sends condolences to the Government, family, and people of New Zealand (Aotearoa) on the passing of His Royal Highness Māori King Tuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero VII.
King Tuheitia’s dedication to uplifting the Māori people of Aotearoa had a positive impact on Indigenous voices and peoples globally. King Tuheitia’s service to his people, preservation of traditions, and tireless advocacy for Indigenous rights will leave an indelible mark on Māori and other Indigenous communities.
