Miami and Atlanta Consulates On Alert for Hurricane Idalia

Nassau, NP, The Bahamas. Hurricane Idalia is expected to make landfall in Northwest Florida tomorrow morning, crossing over into Georgia and the Carolinas in the next few days.
Bahamians in distress anywhere in the state of Florida can contact The Bahamas Consulate General in Miami’s emergency hotline at 786-795-5826.
The Bahamas Consulate in Atlanta, Georgia will close tomorrow, however, Bahamians in need of assistance in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina can contact the Consulate’s emergency hotline at 404-474-2104.
Our missions are in contact with all registered citizens within their jurisdictions. Bahamians abroad are urged to follow all weather advisories, precautions, and evacuation orders issued by their county or state. Unregistered Bahamians living in the aforementioned areas are encouraged to register with our Miami or Atlanta Consulates to enable us to better assist you.
Bahamians are also encouraged to follow their preferred weather apps and news stations to keep abreast of the ever-changing situation. You can also keep informed by following the Ministry’s, and the Atlanta and Miami Consulates’ social media pages.
We urge our citizens to take every necessary precaution in the face of Hurricane Idalia and to stay safe and vigilant.
