MOFA Official Statement on Fire in Cuba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its regret to the Government and People of the Republic of Cuba concerning the recent devastating fires that took place in the  Mantanzas Province.

The Bahamas Embassy in Havana has stated that there have been no confirmed reports of Bahamian nationals being affected by the fires, as Bahamian staff at the Embassy largely reside in Havana. 

According to recent reports, there has been 1 death and 17 persons are considered missing. A diplomatic note has been sent to express The Bahamas’ regret on the matter.
