The Honourable Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of The Bahamas, extended, on behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, warm greetings to the to His Excellency Augusto Santos Silva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Government and People of the Portuguese Republic on the occasion of the 436th Anniversary of Portugal’s National Day. Portugal’s National Day commemorates the death of Luis de Camões, a national literary icon, on 10 June 1580. 

The Minister referred to the cordial and friendly diplomatic relations between Portugal and The Bahamas for the past 23 years.

The Minister conveyed to the Portuguese Republic and its people The Bahamas’ wish for their continued progress and prosperity.
