Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Jamahl Strachan Addresses the OAS Observer State Dialogue

Asuncion, Paraguay. The 54th Organization of American States (OAS) general assembly convened yesterday in Paraguay. A crucial session was the Observer State Dialogue where member states had the opportunity to engage in key areas of interest with the organization’s Permanent Observer States.

In his address, the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Mr. Jamahl Strachan called for urgent action on climate change while reiterating the need for regional cooperation on the ongoing situation in Haiti.

Parliamentary Secretary Strachan concluded his address by stressing the need for multilingualism among not only OAS member states, but Observer States as well.
