ePASSPORT ONLINE RENEWAL SERVICES

WHO CAN APPLY ONLINE

Bahamian citizens previously issued an ePassport,15 and 1/2 years or older.

This portal facilitates the online renewal of ePassports only. Applications for lost, stolen and damaged passports, and persons requesting a name change and first time ePassport applicants, must apply in person at one of our enrollment locations.

Passports can be renewed up to ONE YEAR prior to expiration. 

PASSPORT FEES

1.Application Processing Fees:

  • $25.00 for minors (under 15 and 1/2 years)
  • $50.00 for adults (15 years and 1/2 and older)

NOTICE: As of 1st November, 2024, a subsidized courier fee of $35.00 will be applied to applicants picking up their passports at locations outside of The Bahamas.

2. Expedited services

  • $300.00 – Within 36 – 48 hrs

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Fees can be paid by credit or debit card.

If you receive an error message when making payment please contact the Passport Department by email: epassportoffice@bahamas.gov.bs. Please state in the subject line the nature of your issue/inquire, in the body provide your full name (Last name and Given names), Application ID, and a detailed description of your issue.

Passport fees are nonrefundable. 

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RENEW A PASSPORT

The Passport Department commits itself, under normal conditions, to the production of a passport (renewal) vmas listed.

Under no circumstance does the Passport Department guarantee or control Courier Delivery timeframes.

EXPEDITE PROCESSING FEES AND TIME:

The expedite process for a passport application is a service offered by the Passport Department, wherein an application is prioritized ahead of all other applications previously submitted. The time frame for the expedited service begins when all requirements and associated payments are submitted.

Please Note:

Upon completion of your online application, you will receive an email with your electronic receipt. You may have to check your junk mail folder.

Please be advised that the Passport Department reserves the right to request from other government agencies or the applicant, any additional information deemed necessary for the completion of the online application.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. A scanned copy of the personal data and signature pages of the applicant’s most recent ePassport (click here to see an example).

2. Passport Photograph Specifications:

  • Photograph should be no more than six (6) months old at the time of the application
  • Photograph should be 2×2 inches at 600 dpi
  • Photograph should be in color with a plain white or an off-white background
  • No Selfies.
  • Must have a neutral facial expression, not smiling and mouth must be closed.
  • Makeup should be neutral and jewelry modest.
  • Photograph must have a full face view; the applicant must be facing the camera directly.
  • Hairline and ears must be visible and not covered.
  • Covering of the head is prohibited unless for medical or religious purposes and a formal written request is presented and, approved by the Passport Office. Request for approval should be sent via email to: epassportoffice@bahamas.gov.bs
  • The applicant’s clothing should be in color with his/her shoulders covered
  • The applicant’s clothing must not bear any form of military or civil servant badges or ornaments.
  • Applicants may request Photo labs to provide a digital copy of photograph using one of the following options: e-mail, cd or usb.

Please note that all passport photographs are subject to the approval of the Passport Office.

3. The applicant’s NIB number and digital copy of the NIB smartcard.

4. The applicant must pay the applicable fees after completing the online application.

To renew an ePassport you will need the following:

Notice: In order to access the online application, check the boxes below to confirm that you have the required supporting documents. 

Scan of personal data and signature pages of your existing ePassport (pdf format)

Digital copy of recent passport photograph (not more than 6 months old in JPEG/PNG/BMP format)

NIB number entered on the application form and digital copy (PDF)

Valid credit/debit card

COLLECTION:

APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN PERSON TO COLLECT THEIR PASSPORT FROM THE SELECTED PICKUP LOCATION. Please ensure that the most recent passport and payment receipt is present when collecting.
