TWO BAHAMIAN NATIONALS WERE INVOLVED IN A FATAL CAR CRASH IN NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was saddened to learn of a car crash involving two males, both of whom are confirmed to be Bahamian nationals residing in New Haven, Connecticut.
According to West Haven authorities, on the morning of the 9th April, 2022, the New Haven Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Congress Avenue and College Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a Black Chevrolet Cruz that was significantly damaged as a result of hitting a tree. Fire crews worked to put out the flames of the actively burning vehicle, as well as to remove the two occupants using the Jaws of Life.
Paramedics and medical teams have confirmed that one of the passengers had succumbed to his injuries due to the accident. This victim has been identified as Raymond Rolle a 21-year-old student at the University of New Haven in West Haven. The other passenger who was said to be the driver has been identified as Kenu Adderley a 26-year-old of West Haven. Adderley was transported to the Bridgeport Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was subsequently treated and is now listed in stable condition.
Ministry officials via the Bahamas Consulate General in New York have been and will remain in contact with the families of both victims and stand ready to assist wherever possible. The Minister of Foreign Affairs sends his condolences to the family of Raymond Rolle on their loss as he continues to receive updates on Adderley’s condition.
The Ministry requests that the public keep the family and loved ones of the deceased and hospitalized in their prayers during this difficult and tragic time.
