Today, 5th October 2026 marks the 73rd birthday of our Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister. The Honourable Fred Mitchell has now served at the helm of both ministries for multiple terms.

His excellent leadership continues to diplomatically keep our Bahamas connected globally.

From academia, advocacy, politics, community, and governance, Minister Mitchell has been a public figure and servant for seemingly more than half of his entire life.

As we wish him a happy 73rd birthday today, we thank him for his brilliant, bold, caring, and courageous leadership and commitment to public service.

We look forward to a celebration this evening at 7 pm at St. Anne’s Parish in Fox Hill.
