Press Statement From The Ministry of Foreign Affairs On 51st CARICOM Conference Set for Saint Lucia 5th – 8th July 2026

The Bahamas Prime Minister, Honourable Philip Davis, will head a delegation, inclusive of Foreign Affairs Minister, Honourable Fred Mitchell, and other government and senior officials at the 51st Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Conference of Heads of Government in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia from 5th to 8th July 2026. Under the theme, Regional Partnership and Strategic Cooperation, the Honourable Philip J. Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia is chairing the Conference. He formally assumed chairmanship on 1st July 2026.
Bahamas Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Fred Mitchell notes that “the centre piece of our Foreign Affairs is the relationship with CARICOM. It is central to our relationships with our major trading and international partners, including the United States, China, Canada, EU, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.”
According to Minister Mitchell, Prime Minister Davis is expected to join his colleagues in frank discussions about the future of the region and how CARICOM members interrelate with their international partners.
