Press Statement From The Ministry of Foreign Affairs On The Bahamas’ International Solar Alliance Signing.
For Immediate Release
4th November 2026
The Bahamas has formally ratified its membership in the International Solar Alliance, opening new opportunities to make electricity more affordable and reliable for Bahamian families and businesses.
On 3 November 2026, His Excellency P. Nicholas Symonette Jr., High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the Republic of India, delivered the signed instrument of ratification on the margins of the Ninth Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly in New Delhi, India.
Membership gives The Bahamas greater access to technical expertise, financing and partnerships that can help expand solar power and battery storage, strengthen our electricity infrastructure and reduce our dependence on costly imported fuels. For communities across the Family Islands, that means more opportunities to develop energy solutions suited to their needs.
